PlaneSense President and CEO George Antoniadis, (left), and ASE President and CEO Faiek Zora cut the ribbon on the new simulator Feb. 12.
Fractional fleet operator PlaneSense has initiated pilot training using a Pilatus PC-12 NGX Level D full flight simulator, which it says is the world’s first such device.
PlaneSense received FAA certification of the simulator, built by Aeronautical Systems Engineering, on Feb. 7. The device is co-located at ASE’s facility in Tampa, Florida, where PlaneSense has established classroom space to support its training program. Planesense ground school training will continue at the company’s facility in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
“PlaneSense has long been recognized for its leading-edge, in-house pilot training program,” President and CEO George Antoniadis said. “This simulator allows us to fully control the entire pilot training process and further enhance our curriculum to continue to meet the high standards of excellence expected by our program.”
Based at Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM), PlaneSense operates the largest U.S. commercial fleet of Pilatus aircraft, consisting of 46 PC-12 single-engine turboprops and 16 PC-24 twinjets. It serves destinations in the continental U.S., Canada, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico.
